Most primary health insurance policies either do not cover SCUBA diving or they have limited coverage.
What’s the difference between Dive Insurance and Trip/Travel Insurance? Dive Insurance protects the diver for injuries and accidents in the water. This coverage also has optional coverage for dive gear and more options. Trip/Travel Insurance covers trip cancellation due to unforeseen circumstances such as weather, injury, hospitalization, and some may offer other coverages for divers. DAN offers both Dive Insurance and Trip/Travel Insurance. You should have both.

Trip/Travel Insurance
We highly recommend all divers have DAN trip/travel insurance. Coverage includes trip cancellation & interruption, baggage and sporting equipment, emergency assistance, transportation and more.
Trip/Travel insurance is different and separate from dive insurance.
